Psychoanalytic Psychotherapy
Psychoanalytic psychotherapy is a more intensive therapeutic experience than individual therapy. More frequent contact allows us to quickly establish a supportive and trusting relationship and to engage in an in-depth exploration of obstacles which will lead to change and a vitalized sense of self.
When is psychoanalytic psychotherapy the right fit?
People who consider psychoanalytic psychotherapy are interested in understanding the deeper causes of the challenges in their lives and in learning how to become more self- reflective. Sometimes the challenges or intense feelings they experience are so overwhelming and insurmountable that more frequent sessions are helpful.
Timeframes
You will meet with me for a minimum of three times a week. Those that have done an “analysis” with me have found that this frequency of sessions provides a sense of continuity and depth that yields long-lasting self-understanding and change.
Increased Effectiveness
While individual therapy is certainly effective, psychoanalytic psychotherapy, because of the frequency and continuity from session to session, helps you to gain a deeper understanding of yourself and the patterns you have developed that are stifling you and preventing you from achieving your goals.
If you are interested in embarking on a life-changing journey, call me to set up an initial consultation and we can decide together if “analysis” makes sense for you.
